RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION MANAGEMENT (RIEM)

<History>

Introduction

· The Research Institute for Education Management is a Professional Unit which belongs to the National Institute for Education Management (NIEM) and is operated directly under Leadership of the Director Board of the NIEM.

· RIEM was established based on the Decision No.14/QĐ-HVQLGD signed by the Director of NIEM dated 09/01/2008; operated according to the certificate of Science and Technology registration No. 202/ĐK-KH&CN given by the Director of Hanoi’s Science and Technology Department dated 01/04/2008.

· RIEM has its own legal power, own seal and own bank account.

Scopes of scientific and technological activities

· Implement science research and develop technology in educational management;

· Provide services: Participate and collaborate in training to improve qualifications for educational managers and leaders; cooperate in conducting and implementing research projects of education and educational management nationally and internationally; organize conferences; transfer technology in education; carry out consultancy and assistance in education management for schools.

Functions and targets

· Conduct scientific research and develop technology in educational management;

· Pilot, apply and transfer technology in educational management;

· Organize conferences, scientific forums; scientific and technological events in educational management;

· Consult, set up bidding files, scientific subjects and projects; monitor, assess and cooperate in accrediting programs in education management;

· Propagandize knowledge on educational management for communities;

· Other tasks entrusted by NIEM.

To impulse innovation in educational management through research and development, applying and transferring technology to develop high quality human resource for the Nation.

OBJECTIVES

· Implement research and transfer educational management science in order to meet the demands of innovation and improvement of the training quality for educational managers.

· Improve education quality of educational managers and educational institutions at all levels through consulting and training services.

· Strengthen research capacity in education management science for teaching staff, researchers at the NIEM anf for those who are interested in

· Enhance and education management knowledge and skills for communities.

ACTION PROGRAMS

Programs of researching and transferring education management technology:

· Policies in education development and education managing staffs

· Studies on schools management

· Studies on Economy – Finance in education ;

· Education quality assessment and accreditation

Programs of training:

· Develop and participate in developing training courses for improving leadership and management capacity for education managers and leaders;

· Organize training courses on education leadership and management

Programs of consultancy and assistance:

· Consult NIEM about developing scientific research projects and applications in educational management.

· Consult MOET about forming policies for developing educational managing staff, policies in Economy – Finance education; Policies in building and developing school system.

· Consult educational management organizations educational issues and problems; DOETs in building and organizing education development;

· Consult educational institutions in applying education science to school management; evaluating and accrediting school quality.

Programs of international cooperation:

· Develop cooperative projects in educational management.

· Invite international experts to assist the capacity building for researchers and faculty at the NIEM.

· Organize international conferences and seminars
